Judge Character Ceramic Teapot Vintage Novelty Pottery Mid Century Kitchen Collectible Figure

This ceramic teapot is designed in the form of a judge, featuring a sculpted wig, robes, and a book held against the figure’s side. It reflects the novelty teapot styles produced in the mid to late 20th century, when character-based ceramic kitchenware became a popular decorative and functional category.

The teapot is made of glazed ceramic with moulded detailing to the face, hair, and clothing. The measurements are 17 cm in height, 20 cm in width, and 11 cm in depth, with a total weight of 435 g. The lid is fully removable and fits securely. The underside shows standard production texture and is unsigned, which is typical of novelty ceramics from this period. The glaze surface shows no chips, cracks, or repairs, and the piece remains structurally sound.

Character teapots depicting professions and historical figures formed a distinctive niche in the ceramic market from the 1960s onwards, often produced in small studio batches or as giftware items. This example aligns with that tradition, combining sculptural design with practical function.

The condition is excellent with no damage noted.
