This vintage Goebel ceramic figurine presents a stylised ostrich, produced in West Germany and carrying the 1973 mark along with model code KT188. The sculpting emphasises the flowing form of the wings and the extended neck, typical of Goebel’s animal studies of the period.

The piece is crafted from ceramic with a smooth glazed finish, displaying a monochrome palette that highlights the contours of the bird. The figure stands on an integrated base that provides stability while keeping the form light and elevated. All markings are located on the underside, including the Goebel stamp and model code.

Research indicates that Goebel produced a small series of stylised bird figures during the early 1970s, each designed to capture motion through elongated forms. This ostrich model reflects that design intention with its raised posture and sweeping feather shapes.

Condition is very good with no cracks, repairs or noticeable wear based on close inspection of all surfaces.
