This vintage wind up mouse tin toy is a lithographed metal clockwork model made in India during the late 20th century.

The piece measures 13.5 cm in length, 8.5 cm in width and 4 cm in height, with a weight of approximately 45 grams. It is constructed from printed tin metal with hand-applied detailing, featuring blue eyes, pink ears and stylised fur graphics. The side is stamped “Made in India.”

The wind-up mechanism is located on the underside and operates via a standard clockwork key (key not included). When wound, the internal mechanism drives the concealed wheels beneath the body, allowing the mouse to move forward.

Indian tin wind-up toys became widely exported from the 1970s onwards, often inspired by earlier German and Japanese mechanical designs. These models were produced as affordable mechanical novelties and later became collectible examples of late 20th century tin toy manufacturing.

Condition shows visible surface wear, light scratches and age-related paint loss consistent with vintage use. The key is missing. Please review underside photos carefully.
