Sadler 1484 White Gold Teapot Vintage Hexagonal English Ceramic Floral Gilt Mid Century Collectible

This vintage Sadler model 1484 teapot was made in England during the mid-20th century. It has a distinctive six-sided body, a fitted domed lid and an angular silhouette associated with Sadler’s geometric English teaware.

The glazed ceramic body has a creamy white ground with gold floral decoration around the shoulder. Additional gilding follows the panelled edges, lid, finial, spout and sculptural loop handle. The body stands on six shaped feet, completing its architectural profile.

James Sadler established his pottery in Staffordshire in 1882 and became particularly associated with English teapots. During the mid-20th century, the company produced numerous geometric, cube-shaped and hexagonal forms decorated with floral patterns and metallic gilding. The printed crown backstamp and handwritten 1484 model number identify this example.

The teapot displays extensive age-related crazing, visible across the exterior, underside and interior. There is interior staining, surface discolouration and rubbing, tarnishing and loss to portions of the gold decoration. No obvious major cracks, repairs or significant chips can be identified in the supplied photographs. It has not been tested for liquid retention and is offered primarily as a collectible display piece.
