This vintage Royal Worcester First Smile figurine is model CW293, produced in 1995 as a numbered limited edition of 7,500 pieces. Sculpted by Maureen Halson, it depicts a mother lifting her baby and sharing an intimate first smile.

The figure is made from fine white glazed porcelain and finished in a monochrome colour palette. The flowing folds of the mother’s dress create a tall sculptural silhouette, while the moulded hair, facial features, hands and infant figure provide detailed three-dimensional modelling. The underside carries the original Royal Worcester backstamp, model title, CW293 reference, sculptor’s name and individually numbered limited-edition marking.

Royal Worcester has a long history of producing decorative figures and fine ceramic collectibles. During the late twentieth century, the company issued a range of limited-edition figurines portraying family relationships, childhood and significant personal moments. First Smile was issued in 1995 and this example is numbered 4636 from an edition of 7,500. A current listing for the same model also identifies it as a 1995 Maureen Halson limited-edition design.

The figurine appears to remain in good vintage condition overall. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the supplied photographs. There are light age-related marks, surface residue and rubbing around the underside and unglazed foot rim. An inventory sticker remains attached beneath the base. The original presentation box and certificate are not shown and are therefore not included. Please inspect all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
