This Royal Albert Pigling Bland figurine is a bone china model produced in England under the Beatrix Potter series. The base mark confirms Royal Albert England together with Pigling Bland and a 1989 copyright reference.
The figure stands 11 cm high, with a width of 6 cm and depth of 5 cm, weighing 75 grams. It is crafted in fine bone china with a gloss glaze finish and hand painted detailing. Pigling Bland is depicted wearing a blue waistcoat, lavender jacket and carrying a small bundle, standing on a green base. The underside backstamp reads Royal Albert England, Pigling Bland, Beatrix Potter, Warne & Co 1956, © 1989 Royal Albert Ltd.
Royal Albert began producing Beatrix Potter figurines in the late 20th century, continuing the legacy of Beswick models after production rights transitioned. Pigling Bland originates from Beatrix Potter’s 1913 story and remains one of the recognisable countryside characters in the collection. Late 1980s Royal Albert editions are collected for their consistent glazing and detailed facial finishing.
The figurine is in very good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks or restoration observed. Colours remain clear and glaze intact. Comes boxed as stated.
