This vintage Royal Albert Little Black Rabbit figurine was produced in England in 1989 as part of the licensed Beatrix Potter character collection. The figure portrays the black rabbit wearing a pale green jacket and carrying a basket filled with bread and carrots.
Made from glazed ceramic, the piece has a glossy hand-decorated finish with moulded details across the rabbit’s fur, clothing, basket and naturalistic base. The black, pale green, cream and orange colouring gives the character a distinctive appearance that is immediately recognisable within the Beatrix Potter series.
The underside carries the Royal Albert England backstamp, the character name “Little Black Rabbit,” the F. Warne & Co. 1977 copyright and the Royal Albert Ltd 1989 copyright. This Royal Albert version is associated with the BP6a backstamp, was modelled by David Lyttleton and remained in production until its retirement in 1997.
The figurine is in good vintage condition with minor surface and base wear consistent with age and previous display. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs can be seen in the supplied photographs. The original box is not included.
