David Winter Y Ddraig Goch Cottage 1993 Welsh Collection John Hine Handmade Welsh Miniature House Ornament

This is a vintage David Winter Cottages “Y Ddraig Goch” miniature cottage from the Welsh Collection, dated 1993. The piece is hand made and hand painted under John Hine Limited, Great Britain, with the original underside label and hologram-style authenticity sticker still present. The Welsh title “Y Ddraig Goch” refers to “The Red Dragon,” a strong Welsh cultural symbol. Marketplace examples identify this model as a 1993 Welsh Collection piece, often listed with the same title and maker details.

The model is made from hand-painted resin or composition material, with textured stone walls, slate-style roof tiles, chimneys, flower boxes, cobbled frontage and small architectural details. The front sign reads “Y Ddraig Goch,” and the base is marked “David Winter 1993.”

David Winter Cottages became popular for highly detailed miniature buildings and village scenes, with production beginning in the late 1970s and continuing into the early 2000s. The brand developed a strong collector following, especially for named cottages, regional collections and signed or labelled examples.

The cottage is in vintage pre-owned condition with age-related surface wear, light paint wear and display marks. The green felt underside shows visible wear and loss in places, as seen in the photos. No major structural cracks or repairs are apparent from the images. Please review all photos carefully for the full condition, roof detail, base label and underside wear.
