This limited-edition Beswick Ware figurine depicts Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Beatrix Potter’s celebrated hedgehog laundress. Made in England for Royal Doulton, the underside carries 1997 copyright marks and identifies this example as number 460 from an edition of 1,947.

The large-format glazed figure shows Mrs Tiggy-Winkle holding a metallic silver-coloured iron. She wears a white apron over a rust-red checked blouse and a vertically striped skirt, accompanied by a spotted bonnet. Textured fur, moulded fabric folds and individually applied decorative details create a substantial display piece measuring approximately 12 cm tall.

This larger interpretation was modelled by Amanda Hughes-Lubeck. Collector references distinguish the numbered edition by its metallic iron, gold Beswick Ware backstamp and restricted production of 1,947 examples. The figurine is in good vintage condition, with light wear and minor marks around the unglazed underside consistent with age and previous display. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the supplied photographs. The handwritten edition number 460 remains legible. An inventory sticker and small identification marks are present underneath. The original presentation box is not included.
