Antique Royal Wedding Beer Mug Ceramic Tankard Enoch Wedgwood Prince Charles Diana England 1981

Ceramic Royal Wedding Beer Mug Vintage English Tankard Prince Charles Lady Diana 1981

This ceramic beer mug was produced by Enoch Wedgwood in Tunstall, England to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. Designed as a traditional tankard-style mug, it reflects late 20th century British commemorative pottery made for both functional use and display.

The mug features a substantial cylindrical body with a curved handle and stepped footed base. One side displays a detailed transfer showing the portraits of Prince Charles and Lady Diana within a decorative floral wreath, topped by the red Welsh dragon emblem. The reverse is plain, allowing the commemorative design to remain the focal point. The rim is finished with a fine gilt line. Height measures approximately 13 cm, with a width of 13.5 cm and a depth of 11 cm. The weight is 575 grams.

Enoch Wedgwood, founded in 1835, was a well-established Staffordshire pottery known for durable earthenware and commemorative production. Royal Wedding items from 1981 were produced in large numbers, yet tankard-form mugs remain particularly sought after for their traditional pub-style form and strong visual presence, making them suitable for shelf display, home decor, or historical collections.

The condition is good vintage condition overall. There is light surface wear consistent with age and use, including minor marks to the base and faint wear to the gilt rim. No cracks, chips, or repairs are observed.
