Bacchus Large Character Jug English Toby Mug Wine Theme Vintage Ceramic Royal Doulton

This large character jug is the Bacchus model, numbered D6499 and produced by Royal Doulton during the late twentieth century. The design features the traditional representation of Bacchus with grape and vine motifs forming the handle and crown, modelled in detailed relief and hand-decorated in deep ceramic glazes.

The jug is made from molded and glazed ceramic with crisp sculpting to the face, beard and foliage. The underside carries the Royal Doulton mark together with the Bacchus identification and associated registration numbers. This example is the large size and remains free from chips, cracks or repairs, with the glaze in clean condition.
