This vintage Goebel Golden Oriole bird figurine represents a detailed wildlife study produced in West Germany during the mid-to-late 20th century. The piece features a stylised golden oriole perched on a naturalistic branch base, a design commonly associated with Goebel’s nature-inspired figurine series rather than the Hummel line.

The figurine is crafted from glazed porcelain and hand-finished, with carefully modelled feather texture and layered colouring across the body and wings. The underside bears the Goebel W. Germany mark along with the model reference CV89, confirming its production period prior to German reunification. The sculptural form and painted detailing reflect Goebel’s focus on decorative realism in animal studies during the 1970s.
