This vintage wind up tin toy features a boy riding a scooter, model MS247, produced in China during the 1980s. It is a boxed collectible mechanical toy designed for adult collectors, as indicated on the original packaging.

The figure is constructed from lithographed tinplate with painted detailing. The boy wears a striped top, blue shorts and a yellow cap, mounted on a three wheel scooter base. The wind up mechanism is located underneath and the original key is included. The base is marked MS247 and “Made in China.” The original box is present.

During the 1980s, Chinese manufacturers produced mechanical tin toys inspired by earlier mid century European and Japanese designs. Character driven motion toys such as scooter riders were part of this nostalgic revival market aimed primarily at collectors rather than children.

Condition is good vintage condition. Minor paint wear and light surface marks are visible consistent with age and handling. The box shows storage wear, creasing and light marks. Mechanism present; key included. Working.
