This MS207 wind-up tin toy clown features a traditional clockwork mechanism and lithographed metal body, representing mid-20th century style mechanical character toys. The rear stamp reads MS207 697 and indicates manufacture in China, consistent with later 20th century export tin toys produced in vintage-inspired designs.

The figure measures 11.5 cm in height, 10 cm in width and 9 cm in depth, with a total weight of 160 grams. It is constructed primarily of printed tinplate with a moulded head and mounted on a fixed metal base. The side wind-up key activates the internal clockwork mechanism, designed to rotate the cymbal arms during operation. The clown is decorated in polka-dot costume detailing with contrasting red and blue colour sections and circular target-style cymbals.

Wind-up tin character toys became widely popular from the 1940s onward, particularly clown musicians and mechanical performers. Models such as this were produced both in Japan during the early period and later in China for the global collector and decorative market. The MS series marking is typical of mass-produced export wind-up toys made in the late 20th century using classic design references.
