This English ceramic character jug depicts Bill Sikes from Charles Dickens’ works, produced by Kingston Pottery in the 1960s. It is crafted as a traditional Toby-style pitcher with hand-painted details, warm facial tones, and a glossy finish typical of the period.

The jug measures 16 cm in height, 18 cm in width and 14 cm in depth, with a weight of 440 g. The underside shows the Kingston Pottery Hull England stamp together with the “Charles Dickens Bill Sikes” mark, confirming the model and production origin. The glaze features natural age-related crazing consistent with mid-century English pottery.
