Vintage Pottery Bird Teapot Sculpted Strawberry Finial Raised Fruit Country Cottage Kitchen Tea Ware

This vintage ceramic teapot features a sculpted bird motif surrounded by raised fruit, berries, leaves and branches. Its rounded body is finished in a soft pale blue glaze, with a coordinating curved handle and elongated spout.

The decoration is formed in dimensional relief rather than being applied only as a flat painted pattern. A small sculpted strawberry and leaf finial completes the removable lid, while the moulded bird, fruit and foliage create a decorative design around the body.

Unmarked novelty teapots of this type were especially associated with late twentieth-century country kitchen and cottage-style interiors. Decorative fruit, bird and botanical motifs were commonly combined with pastel glazes and moulded ceramic detailing.
