This vintage Coalport Sisters figurine is model CW470, designed by Douglas Tootle and produced in fine bone china. The composition depicts two female figures standing closely together, with the younger figure embracing the taller woman beneath a broad-brimmed hat.

The figurine is finished in a monochrome white glaze that emphasises the sculpted facial profiles, flowing dresses, hat detailing and intertwined arms. The elongated folds of the clothing create a tall, balanced silhouette, while the glossy surface reflects the fine modelling throughout the piece. The underside carries the Coalport backstamp, CW470 model reference, Sisters title and Douglas Tootle attribution.

Coalport was established in England in the eighteenth century and became particularly associated with fine bone china tableware and decorative figurines. During the late twentieth century, the company produced numerous sculptural figures based on family relationships, formal occasions and sentimental subjects. Douglas Tootle designed several recognised Coalport character and family studies, including this Sisters model.

The figurine appears to remain in good vintage condition overall. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the supplied photographs. Light age-related marks, rubbing and surface residue are present around the underside and unglazed foot rim. An inventory sticker and an older retail label remain attached beneath the base.
