This vintage wind up tin toy features a duck riding a tricycle and was produced in Western Germany during the mid-20th century. The body is clearly marked “Made in Western Germany,” confirming pre-1990 manufacture. It is a boxed example and the mechanism is in working condition.

The figure is constructed from lithographed tinplate with bright red, yellow and blue detailing. The duck wears a red jacket and bow tie and balances two striped spinning drums above its head. When wound, the tricycle wheels rotate, the duck pedals forward and the top propeller assembly spins simultaneously, creating a multi-motion mechanical display. The wind up key is present and functional. The original box is included.

West German tin toys from the 1950s–1970s are recognised for their precise mechanical engineering and vivid lithography. Character novelty toys such as animal riders were produced for export markets and are now sought after by collectors of European mechanical tin toys. The “Made in Western Germany” marking places this piece before German reunification in 1990, most commonly associated with production between the 1960s and 1970s.

Condition is good vintage condition. Light surface wear and minor paint marks consistent with age are visible. The mechanism works correctly. The box shows storage wear and light edge compression.
