This MS241 wind up Santa is a tinplate clockwork walking toy produced by Metal King and manufactured in China during the 1990s. Designed as a collectible item rather than a modern children’s toy, it follows the classic lithographed tin toy tradition.

The body is constructed from printed tinplate metal with visible seam construction typical of pressed steel toys. The internal mechanism is spring-driven and operated by a key (key not included). The base and foot plates are metal, and the figure retains its original painted surface and mechanical housing. The original box is included and marked MS241 Made in China with Metal King branding.

Metal King reproduction tin toys became popular in the late 20th century as nostalgic collector pieces inspired by mid-century Japanese and European clockwork toys. This example reflects that revival period, produced as an adult collectible rather than a vintage 1950s original.

Condition is good vintage collectible condition. The key is missing and the mechanism is therefore untested. There are minor paint wear marks and light surface scuffs consistent with age and handling. The box shows mild edge wear and slight creasing.
