This vintage Maruri porcelain bird figurine depicts a Mistle Thrush perched on a sculpted branch with green leaves. The underside is clearly marked The Chancery Collection, Maruri and Mistlethrush, confirming the manufacturer, collection and subject.

The figure is made from fine porcelain and finished with detailed hand-painted decoration. Natural brown, cream and grey tones reproduce the bird’s speckled breast, layered wing feathers and long tail. The textured branch and moulded green leaves create a stable woodland-style base.

Maruri produced decorative hand-painted porcelain figures for The Chancery Collection during the later twentieth century. Comparable pieces were created for the British American Glass Company and included accurately modelled British and European garden birds. Similar Maruri Chancery Collection examples are commonly attributed to the 1970s and 1980s.

The figurine appears to be in good vintage display condition. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the supplied photographs.
