Vintage Goebel Hummel Prayer Before Battle HUM 20 Girl With Toy Horse And Horn Figurine Western Germany 1970s Ceramic With Small Flaws Decor

This is an original Goebel Hummel figurine titled “Prayer Before Battle,” model HUM 20, made in West Germany between 1972 and 1979. The base is stamped with the blue stylized bee logo and the number “20,” confirming its authenticity and period of manufacture.

This hand-painted ceramic piece features a young girl standing in front of a toy wooden horse, holding a riding stick and a horn tucked under her arm. Her eyes are closed in a solemn pose, suggesting a moment of thought or prayer before play. The figurine is crafted in classic Hummel style, with soft pastel colours, delicate detailing, and a gently aged glaze.

Please note there is a small chip on the horse’s ear and damage to the end of the horn under the girl’s arm. These flaws are clearly shown in the photos and are reflected in the price. Despite the imperfections, this remains a wonderful example of mid-century Hummel artistry and would suit both collectors and lovers of nostalgic European porcelain figures.
