This vintage Price Bros Ye Olde Cottage Ware biscuit barrel was produced in England and designed as a traditional country cottage with a removable thatched-roof lid.

Made from glazed earthenware ceramic, the barrel features moulded brickwork, windows, doors and colourful climbing foliage. The roof-shaped lid is finished in layered brown and yellow tones and includes a chimney-shaped grip. Its original woven wicker-style carrying handle remains attached to the ceramic side mounts.

Price Bros was a Staffordshire pottery manufacturer associated with the cottage ware designs that became especially popular in mid-20th-century British kitchens. The company later became Price and Kensington Potteries in 1962, making the impressed Price Bros mark useful for identifying this as an earlier production piece.

The barrel is in vintage condition with age-related glaze crazing, minor surface wear and small areas of glaze or colour wear visible around some edges. The removable lid and handle are present. No obvious major cracks or repairs can be seen in the supplied photographs.
