This substantial vintage ceramic horse figurine depicts a powerful Shire or Clydesdale-style working horse in a standing pose. The maker is currently unidentified, but its high-gloss brown finish, feathered white lower legs and elaborate applied tack are characteristic of decorative equestrian figures produced during the later twentieth century.

The horse is formed from glazed ceramic or pottery and has a deep chestnut-brown body with softly shaded cream and white detailing around the mane, tail and hooves. It is fitted with brown leather tack, metal rivets and gold-tone chains that create the appearance of a traditional working-horse harness. The separate leather components add texture and character to the sculpted form.

Large harnessed Shire and Clydesdale figures became popular decorative pieces in Britain during the mid-to-late twentieth century. They reflect the continuing cultural association of heavy horses with farming, brewing, haulage and rural working life. Comparable unmarked examples are commonly described as Staffordshire-style or English decorative pottery, although no specific manufacturer should be attributed without a visible factory mark. A comparable Staffordshire Reproductions example has been identified as dating to the 1970s.

The ceramic body appears to be in good vintage display condition with no obvious major chips or structural cracks visible in the supplied photographs. The leather harness shows expected age-related surface wear, variation in colour and minor distortion. The undersides of the hooves have protective pads with visible adhesive residue and wear.
