This vintage ceramic chicken teapot is a novelty hen-shaped tea pot designed for functional use and decorative display. The piece dates to the mid-20th century, a period when animal-form teapots were widely produced for country kitchen décor and collectible gift markets.

The teapot features a sculpted hen lid resting inside an egg-shell style body, with an integrated spout and curved handle. It is finished in a speckled cream glaze on the body, contrasted with a hand-painted brown and amber glazed hen lid with red and yellow detailing. The ceramic has a glossy surface finish, and the sculpted texture reflects traditional mid-century novelty pottery techniques.
